How Do I Prove My Disability Case?

If your disability or condition is listed in the Blue Book, you may think that you have proven your disability and are now eligible for SSI or SSDI benefits. But it isn’t that simple — you need to provide extensive documentation to prove that you have met the requirements.

At Russell & Hill, PLLC, located in Everett, servicing Snohomish, King, Pierce, and Skagit County, Washington, our attorneys help you develop the documentation you need to prove your disability case. We will arrange for consultative examinations if the existing medical records are incomplete.

How Our Disability Attorneys Can Help

Russell & Hill, PLLCOur attorneys make sure that a client receives proper treatment for the disabling condition. One of the best sources of information about an individual’s ability to work and the extent of his or her disability is the medical record created by the treating physician, psychologist, optometrist or other medical providers. Our lawyers will review the medical records and prepare summaries for the administrative law judge.

These records can include a medical history, test and lab results, diagnosis, the medications prescribed, and statements about the patient’s ability to perform work-related tasks. We also request medical reports from clinics, hospitals, rehab facilities and other organizations where our client may have received treatment.

We urge our clients to document the limitations in their daily lives caused by their disabilities. Equally important, we help people assemble all the non-medical documentation that could help the case. This includes vocational assessment reports, employment records, accident reports, witness statements, and records from public service agencies.
