When you are driving in and around Spokane, you should never have to worry about being injured due to the careless or negligent actions of another person. One family in Spokane is still reeling from a crash earlier this year, in which a Wenatchee woman was just jailed for a failed court appearance. At Russell & Hill, PLLC, we are dedicated to helping clients recover the compensation they deserve. Our Spokane car accident lawyers are ready to help.

This was a horrible crash

In April, a collision in north Spokane left a woman and her two children seriously injured. Police say that Jessica H. Fisk, 21, was driving her vehicle northbound on State Route 395 near Whitworth University. Authorities say she was driving at 68 miles per hour when her Dodge Challenger traveled into the oncoming lane at the intersection of West Hawthorne Road.

Video surveillance from a business nearby shows that Fisk did not stop at the red light and struck a minivan carrying Jamie Biggerstaff and her two children. Her vehicle then struck another car before coming to rest in the intersection.

As a result of the crash, Biggerstaff suffered a fractured pelvis. Her daughter sustained a lacerated spleen, a fractured collarbone, and a lung contusion. Her son also suffered from a lacerated spleen and a lung contusion, as well as a kidney injury and a pelvic injury.

Fisk was also seriously injured and was transported to the hospital. Nobody else was injured in the crash.

Fisk failed to appear in court

Fisk was charged with three counts of vehicular assault in Spokane County Superior Court in October. She was also facing a series of charges unrelated to the incident. She failed to appear in court on the vehicular assault charge because she is jailed in Chelan County on unrelated charges.
